PASTORAL CARE

"Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up the other, but woe to one who is alone and falls and does not have another to help."

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

OUR MINISTRY

The ministry of caring is at the heart of the church's life. Trinity now has a Pastoral Care team that works closely with Rev. Charissa to support the needs of the parish. Team members are available to bring the Eucharist to someone's home or hospital room, to visit or pray with people, and to provide a listening ear. They can also help think through supports that might be useful such as meals, transportation, or a referral program for more specialized needs. Whatever you may be going through, you don't have to do that alone. Please don't be shy or worried about how busy others may be; let us know when you could use some care and we will joyfully respond!

"Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep."  - Romans 12:15

The team currently includes: Charlotte Frerichs, Nancy Jewett, Rod Markin, Grace Pope Carlson,

Julie Rohr, Cathy Rude, and Laura Williams. You may reach out to any of them directly, or to Charissa.

CONNECTIONS...

Are you or someone in your life going through an illness, loss or other difficulty - and do you find yourself anxious about what to say, or NOT to say?  Kate Bowler has some wonderful resources curated by key topics. These include beautiful (sometimes cheeky) prayers, blessings, support guides (like one on receiving a terminal diagnosis), and links to interviews and podcasts. Perusing these is a wonderful way to cultivate your own capacity to care for others.

If you are looking for a referral for yourself or others in navigating a difficult situation, Trinity has a relationship with Mental Health Connect. People have found access to therapists, listening and advice, addiction treatment centers, and housing resources through their trained Navigators.

During Advent, Trinity offers A Hope in Loss Service that acknowledge losses and helps finds comfort through readings, music, and candle lighting. For more information, see this document.
