Born in Douglas, GA, and raised in Montgomery, AL, the second of six children in a clergy family. Graduate of Indian Springs Preparatory School; B.A. in Music History and Literature from Whittier College and M. Mus. with Honors and Distinction in Recorder Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Performed and taught early music and avant-garde recorder music for nine years, and was Director of the Early Music Department at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. Founded and conducted a choir that specialized in 16th century music. Entered the School of Theology, University of the South, Sewanee, TN. in 1985. After ordination he served two years as Curate at Grace Church, Manchester, NH; four years as Rector of St. Mark�s Church, LaGrange, GA, and then accepted a call as Rector of Trinity Church, Excelsior, in 1994.

Currently serves on Diocesan Council and as alternate clergy Deputy to General Convention. Has served on Standing Committee, Board of Examining Chaplains (Chaplain for Theory & Practice of Ministry), Liturgy & Music Commissions (Minnesota, Atlanta, & New Hampshire).

Andrew has been a Spiritual Faculty member of a CREDO team since 2004. CREDO, Inc. is a Church Pension Group holistic wellness initiative for participants in the Church Pension.

Married to Mary Halverson Waldo of Duluth who teaches at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis and is a registered teacher trainer for Suzuki Recorder Method; three sons: Jonathan (Amber), James and Benjamin. Resides in Shorewood. Recreational interests include woodworking, model trains and working with a Montgomery, Alabama-based non-profit group, Old Alabama Rails, toward the preservation of Alabama railroad history.
