A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Nancy majored in American Studies and minored in History. After completing several graduate courses in Social Work at the U of M, she decided instead to pursue graduate work at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul where she earned both an M.A. in Theology and Spirituality and a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry. Having been active in parish ministry for many years as a volunteer, she eventually decided to pursue a call to ordained ministry. She earned a Certificate in Advanced Theological Studies from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL in 2004 and was ordained priest in 2005, having returned to serve the people of Trinity Church where she has been a member since l994. Since completing her M.A., she has also served as adjunct faculty in the Theology Department at the College of St. Catherine from time to time. Nancy is responsible at Trinity Church for Children’s Ministry (nursery-grade 5), liturgical planning and the Trinity Forum and shares in the pastoral ministry of the clergy at Trinity. A native Minnesotan, Nancy currently makes her home in Long Lake with husband Henry Brantingham, a self-employed computer software consultant. They have two grown children: daughter, Kate, and son, Andrew. She loves to read and write and wishes there was much more time for the garden, long walks and sitting by the lake. |
